The 2nd Edition of R&D Showcase 2025 on March 22, 2025, with the theme "Toward Sustainable Development Goals" As aspired, this platform provided a good opportunity for students to exhibit their research endeavours through prototypes, product demos, poster presentations, and technical presentations by faculty pursuing Ph.D.
The event began with a prayer song and classical dance performance by students, followed by a special AV about the R&D Showcase. Principal Dr. M. Venu Sir addressed the gathering by highlighting how the VITB management (Chairman Sir, Vice Chairman Sir, Secretary Sir, and Joint Secretary Sir) is encouraging the research culture in our college. He stressed the importance of innovation and urged the students to concentrate on projects related to Sustainable Development Goals to help society.
Chief guest Prof. Ranjit Thapa, DEAN, SRM University, AP, and Guest of Honors Dr. K. Hima Bindu, Prof NIT-AP, Dr. Kiran Kumar Prof NIT-Warangal & Dr. M. Kamaraju Prof-SRGEC-AP graced the event.
Dr. N. Padmavathy, DEAN R&D-VITB, addressed the gathering by highlighting the events to be conducted during the R&D Showcase 2025. She further highlighted various R&D activities being conducted by the faculty and students of VITB. Dr. Raju Aedla, DEAN R&D, VEDIC-SVES, addressed the gathering by discussing how the students and faculty can concentrate on presenting their works in international publications and protect their novel innovations by patenting. Prof M. Srilakshmi, vice principal, praised the efforts of the R&D team in initiating the event. She also highlighted various events being conducted in VITB from the first year to help the students adapt to the research culture in the institute.
Dr. K. Hima Bindu, the guest of honor, expressed how the latest innovations like ChatGPT and AI are overtaking the world. She suggested that the students use the latest technologies to gain knowledge and better the world. Dr. Kiran Kumar shared his experience of visiting various institutes and how he felt that few institutes are excelling in making efforts for both academic and research growth. He praised our SVES institutes for promoting research well. While motivating the students above research and innovation, he appreciated all the participants for their enthusiasm in sharing and gaining knowledge. Dr. M. Kamaraju congratulated the event coordinators and the VITB R&D team, as the total number of student participants is near 900. He appreciated that the count showed the efforts made by all towards the successful arrangement of this event. Dr. Ranjit Thapa, the Chief guest, addressed the gathering by expressing the importance of establishing the research ecosystem in academic institutes and the efforts it needs. He expressed that a well-established research ecosystem can help in building young faculty members and shaping the young students towards innovations.
The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd winners of each event are recognized with cash prizes, certificates, and mementos during the valedictory function. The event is formally closed with a vote of thanks by expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a grand success.
