Women in Data Science by Stanford University

Women in Data Science (WiDS), is a Worldwide Initiative by Stanford University. This initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. Five years later, WiDS is a global movement that includes a number of worldwide initiatives like conference, datathon, podcast, education outreach and workshops.

The faculty and students of Vishnu Institute of Technology actively participated in the WiDS datathon event conducted on kaggle platform (https://www.kaggle.com/c/widsdatathon2021). Their hardwork paid off and four of our teams secured good global ranks and regional rank. One of our team secured 2nd place in the WiDS regional event. WiDS regional event is organized by the WiDS Ambassadors. WiDS Hyderabad is an independent event organised by Ms Sulakshana Sreeram to coincide with the annual Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference held at Stanford University.
