Institution of Engineers India

Institution of Engineers India (IEI) student chapter was started in the year 2014 in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Chapter Code :534202/VITB/EE. The objective is to bridge the gap between Industry and Academics and to encourage the students towards extra-curricular activities apart from regular academics.

The student chapter is actively running since its inception under the rules and regulations governed by IEI headquarters, Kolkata.

Guest Lectures by Industry people, technical contests, industrial visits and celebrating the days of importance are the regular events in the student chapter.

Many of the student members from this chapter were selected for the meritorious Scholarship awards by IEI.

About IEEE VITB Student Branch

The request to initiate IEEE student branch at Vishnu Institute of Technology, Bhimavaram, was initially approved on 08th January 2019. The same was inaugurated in the campus on 9th February 2019 with a grand note of address by Dr. V. Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala. The branch was very active from that moment and proposing various technical and non-technical events to the student and faculty fraternity by inviting resource persons from the institute of national importance. Active student members are elected as the office bearers and their lead on the respective task during the tenure was excellent and it repeats on the next batch and vice versa.

IEEE Student members are the future innovators and leaders, a vital part of the technology profession. IEEE membership can help enhance careers, starting as students and transitioning to the volunteer members that help shape the future for all society. This chapter aims to cultivate and enrich the research and technical interests in the minds of the volunteers.

VITB Student Branch Mission

  • To promote the awareness on the benefits of student membership and ensure membership retention
  • To organize the technical events in the institute regularly on the thrust and advanced areas of research
  • To bring the students in participating the relevant meetings, hackathons and to prepare them for the practical or industrial requirements
  • To motivate the students to involve in peer project activities and propose technical papers on the research findings

 

Galvanism - Student Club

Department of EEE, Vishnu Institute of Technology have inaugurated the Student Club "Galvanism" on 19th December 2022 in the presence of Dr. D. Suryanarayana (Director and Principal). Dr. V. Sandeep (NIT Andhra Pradesh) and Dr. P. Sivakumar (Sasi Institute of Technology and Engineering) honored the event as the representative of IEEE Vizag Bay Section. Followed by this, a seminar and FDP was organised for the students and faculty which was highly effective in the subject area (IEEE Membership Benefits). It has given an insight into the topic for the attendees. The information shared was very much useful for their academic, projects, higher studies, new technology awareness and research purpose. Speaker addressed the queries raised during the session. Approximately, 300 students and 30 faculty members were participated in this events.
